• Welcome

WELCOME to SENEA – the South East Northumberland Ecumenical Area. Our website is a window into our churches, the people who belong to them, what they believe and do.

On this Home page, surrounding beautiful views of our Northumbrian landscape, you can see the ghostly image of a mine-head winding gear. Not long ago these engines could be seen everywhere in this part of Northumberland. There’s only one left now, and it is a museum.

The people of this area depended on one another for their lives and livelihood. Their strength and dependability are still in our local churches. Although we celebrate and honour our heritage, we don’t live in the past.

We share the vision of our Founder and Master, Jesus Christ. He called it ‘the Kingdom of God’. A world where every single person is valued and cherished, because every person is a child of God. Our mission, in each of our local churches and in our Ecumenical Area, is to bring that vision into reality.
